![]() The mouthpiece slides freely on the center ring for about 1" before reaching a stop, then engages to roll forward onto the tongue to disperse pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase (upper ring), when the reins are engaged the horse first feels the nose, chin and poll pressure before the mouthpiece is engaged. The 3-ring combination bit uses 5 different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Please Note:A Myler bit will normally measure 1/8” larger than the stated size because the Myler's believe that the bit should have at least 1/8” to 1/4” of bit on either side of the mouth. This is a Level 3 Myler Bit. Due to the high degree of tongue relief offered, this mouthpiece is appropriate for an experienced rider with a horse that has a trustworthy and consistent disposition and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as hands. The ease with which it can be used also makes it very suitable for a wide range of riders, from the professional trainer or competitor to the casual rider. This sophistication makes the Combination Bit applicable across a wide range of horses and indispensable to any training program. None of these elements can engage or tighten up on their own to apply unintentional pressure. The mouthpiece floats on the ring and the noseband and chin strap remain stationary until the reins are engaged. By simply changing the noseband/chinstrap adjustment, the rider can easily control how much, if any, pressure the mouthpiece will apply and to what degree the nose, chin and poll are engaged. The noseband and chin strap form a single unit connected through the purchase. Many bits offer a combination of nose pressure and mouthpiece, but none achieve the sophistication of the patented Myler Combination Bit.ĭue to the innovative design, the Myler Combination Bit synchronizes the pressure applied to the nose, chin and poll. ![]() We will never let that happen. One of the most innovative tools in the Myler System, the Myler 3-Ring MB 33 5" Combination Bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, a shank bit, and a hackamore. Any problem will be solved quick and easy, so you will never have to worry about being unsatisfied with the quality of our products. We stand behind our products and guarantee you will be happy in many years after purchasing a product from us. When you choose Fager, we promise you quality from day one. A thicker bit is not only wider, it is also higher, the upper bar will press down on the lower bar with more pressure, than a thinner bit will create and give constant pressure to one spot. What we have seen, and also measure, is that thinner bars and joints ads more freedom inside the mouth without locking the tongue. When the joints are placed on top of the bars and pressure is applied together with the friction from left and right rein, you can imagine how uneven the pressure will be.įor many years we were told thinner bits was sharper than thicker bits, due to the pressure on a smaller surface. We have seen severe damage to the bars and palate due to long centrepieces. Everything needs to be taken in consideration when developing new designs. The pressure from the bit will always be there, if you take some pressure away from one point - it will be more on another. They are more sensitive than ever before and we must adapt and not prevent them to be the best they can. We want them quicker, respond faster and more alert to our aids. The horse today does not look the same as 50 years ago. We are turning old knowledge to the edge, why put a thick and heavy bit inside your horses mouth when you can use a lighter option that takes up less space? Designed and developed together with veterinarians. Every design is developed with a type of horse in mind. Fager work with pressure points, to divide the pressure where your horse feels the most comfortable.
